Can we consider organisms as a group of organised individual cells doing a particular task of its own and together satisfies the needs and survival of the organism.?

Some take care of food supply, some restoration, some defence, some on thinking.

So can we consider this connected world with people doing individual task for the survival of the earth as an organism?
